I just wanted to make a blog so that anybody who is interested can follow me up until I depart for my 9 month stay in Korea and for the duration of the program. This is my first time having a blog like this, so I'm not sure how to theme it up or anything, but I'm sure I'll figure that out when I have a day off and a few hours to spare. I'm kind of excited to move from a journal to a blog because I guess anyone who wants to can get to know me a little bit better. Plus, I have a reason to listen to my slow tracks while writing now heh heh.

So I guess I'll start with what's going on now:

It's currently the very end of my senior year, my SAT is the day after tomorrow, and my MacBook Pro just arrived yesterday afternoon. I cut my hair at the beginning of this week because it was driving me crazy at work and kept getting in my face, so on my day off I took a razor to the head. The countdown until I leave for New York / South Korea is 87 days.

One shot selca before leaving the bathroom so you can see
my new haircut. Heh heh my head looks really long!

I think the MacBook is one of the bigger things in my life right now! My dad sent it as a graduation gift for me and it's the 13", 2.9 GHz, 750 GB Hard Drive, 8 GB, i7, Quad Core model. This is the first gift he's given me since my birthday back in November when he sent me an iPhone 5. Before that, I can't remember the last time since he gave me anything. I do recall that it had been 5 months since I'd spoken to him and it's been 11 months since I've last seen him because he moved to Boston. He said, "You're welcome, buddy. Thought since you have the iPhone 5, you should have an Apple laptop to match it. Ha ha. Enjoy it and congratulations. I wish I could be there."

I sat at the window watching the UPS man and waiting for him to ring the bell.

I've been working at Longhorn Steakhouse for the past 3 months as a host and recently asked my manager to promote me to serving, but 3 hosts just quit and they'll need to find replacements before I'll be able to leave the front door. My current savings for Korea are sitting at roughly $600 and I've paid my mom $1500 in rent money. I spent $200 on my passport, so that set me back a bit. We're in a really tight financial situation so we definitely need to figure something out before I have to leave for Korea and can't help with bills anymore.

Longhorn Steakhouse after-hours when we turn the lights up.

Senior year has been... lackluster. I've blown off all my classes and definitely did not make the grades that I am capable of. I mean I guess it's not as bad as I thought since I didn't fail calculus. I literally did homework twice this year outside of class and never studied for tests, so not too shabby. Not really any new friends or anything in particular. I've just been skimming by on life with the bare minimum as per usual.

AP Environmental Science: 98

AP Calculus AB: 72
AP Biology: 96
Economics: 88
Government: 92
Speech: 100
English IV: 94

Class Rank: 72 out of 563 (12.7%)

I feel like this about wraps up what's going on in my life at the moment. I'll save specifics for later posts since I still have 87 days before the adventure begins! I appreciate anybody who's reading this and is genuinely interested in knowing me better. Stick with me while I find my way through the world of blogging hehe. Good night!
